Performers donate items from State Fair concerts to on-line auction
- The auction will launch the morning of Monday, Aug. 15 on the Clothes Off Our Back web site at www.clothesoffourback.org and will run through Friday, Aug. 26. Additional items will be added throughout the auction.
- LYNYRD SKYNYRD CANCELS AUG. 13 CONCERT AT ILLINOIS STATE FAIR
- Lynyrd Skynyrd has canceled its appearance at the 2005 Illinois State Fair Saturday, Aug. 13, due to problems with lead singer Johnny Van Zant’s voice, according to band management. Tickets for the concert will be fully refunded, but cannot be refunded at the Grandstand office ticket window.

2005 MISS ILLINOIS COUNTY FAIR
Miss Williamson County, Sherrie Smith, will reign over the 2005 Illinois State Fair as the Miss Illinois County Fair Queen
- Miss Sherrie Smith was crowned by Illinois Department of Agriculture Director Charles "Chuck" Hartke and retiring Queen Kelly Niemerg from the over 60 county fair queens in attendance.
- BLIEFNICK NAMED STATE FAIR MANAGER
First woman to hold position in fair’s 152- year history
Acting State Fair Manager Amy Bliefnick has been selected to fill the vacant fair manager position, effective immediately, Agriculture Director Chuck Hartke announced today. Bliefnick will become the 57th manager of the State Fair and the first woman to assume the top job in the fair’s 152-year history.
